The Worship/Prayer Section

This section contains a collection of prayers.  Some of these prayers are quoted from followers of Jesus in the past.  Some of these prayers I rewrote from ancient Christian prayers.  Some I have written originally.  But I use all of these prayers in my personal worship with the Lord.

Some people say “We shouldn’t pray what other’s pray because that’s not sincere, from the heart.”  Frankly, that’s just silly.  Every time we sing a song to the Lord, we are using someone else’s words to pray to God.  There’s nothing wrong with it, as long as we are sincere and focusing on God.

For me, praying the prayers of those who have been powerful in faith is borrowing on their faith and making it my own.  At the same time, I don’t necessarily accept everything they have written.  So, since almost everyone I quote have gone to the Lord, I feel free to change their prayers according to my faith.

When do I use them?  Frequently, especially when I am so exhausted that normal prayer is difficult.  It is good to have prayers that we know will change our lives we are able to pray when we have a hard time focusing on prayer.  I will sing worship songs for the same reason.

I encourage you to do the same.  Read over these prayers, and see if any of them stir you or reflect prayers you would want to pray.  If they reflect your faith, use them in your prayer life.  If they almost reflect your faith, change them.  I don’t care.  Keep some prayers with you at all times to pray when your normal prayer life seems weak or difficult.

This is a tool.  If it draws you closer to God, please use it.
